
Vico Equense sits on the road between Castellammare and Sorrento, resting on a tuff spur straight above the sea. The viewpoint looks out on the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius across the water: from here you see face-on the volcano you climbed from the other side.
It’s a stop, not a day out: you pull over for twenty minutes, look, and drive on. At sunset it’s worth twice as much.
