The flower

The hydrangea is the flower of the Coast’s gardens: in Ravello they grow whole hedges of it, and in summer it turns a blue that looks stolen from the sea. It’s a flower that changes colour with the soil it stands in — up here, on the mountain, it comes out blue.

In Scafati the houses are named after the flowers in the courtyard. In Agerola the flowers are the ones of the Coast, but the rule doesn’t change: each house keeps the colour of its own.

The house

We’re in Campora, one of Agerola’s hamlets, a step from the church square. In a real village, not in the middle of nowhere.

The apartment is on the ground floor of the house Therese’s great-grandfather built in the early 1900s: you get in without a single step. It had stood empty for decades and was going down; from 2023 it took three years of work to bring it back.

What’s inside

Wi-Fi, air conditioning and every comfort of today’s technology — inside hundred-year-old walls. Outside, private parking, a terrace, a view over the coast, and a garden with tables and benches.

All of it on the fairytale mountain of the Amalfi Coast: seven hundred metres above the sea, the Path of the Gods five minutes away, Amalfi twenty-five. And below you the blue of the sea — the same blue as the hydrangeas, and it’s the view from the trail fifteen minutes from the door.
